Sesame Seeds, Toasted
![]() |
Sesame seeds are most commonly white or black, though red and brown varieties pop up every now and then. Whatever the color, the flavor is quite consistent. They add a depth of flavor reminiscent of dry-roasted nuts to many dishes, most commonly Asian ones. Toasted sesame seeds are sprinkled on salads, sesame paste is added to sauces, and delightfully aromatic sesame oil is used to flavor everything from dips to marinades.
