Sesame Seeds, Black
Sesame seeds are most commonly white or black, though red and brown varieties pop up every now and then. Whatever the color, the flavor is quite consistent. They add a depth of flavor reminiscent of dry-roasted nuts to many dishes, most commonly Asian. Black sesame seed are especially good on salmon and other fish! Use sesame seeds with salads, fish, poultry, and meat dishes. Add to stir fried vegetables, bean and noodle dishes, cheese spreads, egg salads, butter or cheese sauces, cakes, cookies, and butter spreads and breads.
