Juniper Berries come from the juniper evergreen shrub found throughout the northern hemisphere. Classically paired with game meats, juniper berries are used in Northern Europe and the United States in marinades, roast pork, and sauerkraut. They enhance meat, stuffing, sausages, stews, and soups. The berries should be crushed to bring out the flavor. Juniper also flavors gin and other spirits such as schnapps and some beers.
